3 Sincere Reasons for Buying Hospitality Products Made in The United States

United States Patriotism

Patriotism is a term Americans take great pride in as they display their love for the United States.  They line up on the street wearing their red, white, and blue colors to celebrate parades for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. With all the supply chain issues from the past few years, many more Americans are looking to buy products that are made here in the United States.  Linens and hospitality supplies are no exception.  Purchasing American-made products has many benefits which include providing jobs, promoting independence, and good quality products.

Provides Jobs for Americans

A huge benefit to buying products like linens and hospitality supplies made in the United States is that it provides jobs for Americans and supports the economy.  When the manufacturing industry sees an increase in demand, more jobs will be created in the United States which will help improve the overall health of the economy and lead to more jobs. This will help set up future generations for success by having a greater chance of good jobs being available when they are ready to work.

Promotes Independence

Americans take pride in their nation and want to be self-sufficient.  When Eaglethe United States imports products from other countries, the nation becomes more dependent on them.  This was evident during the pandemic when the United States was experiencing severe supply chain shortages. Some customers had to wait months to receive their products because they were stuck on ships in the ocean traveling from another country.  The domestic production of more products will alleviate some of these supply chain issues in the future.  Sustainability will also be improved by buying products in the United States.  International shipments require more fuel usage and will result in higher carbon emissions because of the longer distance.

High Quality

Products made in the USA are well-designed, superior, and often last longer than products made outside of the country. The United States has qualified workers, health and safety regulations, and other regulations that make sure customers are receiving high-quality products.  While other countries may have laws and regulations, there is not always a guarantee that the products would have the same high level of quality as if they were developed in the United States.

How to Tell if a Product is Made in the United States

The most obvious tip is to check the product label to see if it lists the country of origin.  It will usually beAmerican Flag found on the price tag, near the barcode, or engraved somewhere on the product.  Products should say “Made in the USA” as opposed to “Made in America.”  While a “Made in America” product may still be developed in the United States, this product could have also been produced in Canada or Mexico because of the free trade agreement (NAFTA) between the three countries. Verb usage is another key factor.  The word “made” typically signifies the raw materials came from and were processed in the United States.
