Mattress Care

All mattresses should have protection. It will give you optimal return on your mattress investment plus insure your mattress warranty. Your guests will appreciate the cleanliness & protection of a cover when using the bed. It is important to have zippered waterproof encasements for mattress and box spring for protection from dust mites, bedbugs & protection against spills, etc. These covers should be zippered (which will not need removing). You should then protect your mattress with a mattress pad for comfort. These can be washed and dried before dressing the bed for next Wholesale Mattress to Innkeepers - Hospitality Industryuse. It would be wise to have a few extra mattress pads for emergency situations.

Vacuuming is the only recommended cleaning method. If covered with a waterproof mattress cover, you should not have any stains directly on the mattress. If there is liquid on the mattress, we recommend using a towel to blot the liquid. Apply gentle pressure to absorb the liquid. Do not press the liquid into the mattress. If you must clean a stain, use mild soap with cold water and apply lightly! Don’t ever soak a mattress or foundation and don’t use dry cleaning fluid of any type on your mattress — these chemicals could damage some of the comfort and upholstery materials.

For general care, always flip and rotate the mattress. A two-sided mattress should be flipped and rotated regularly. Mattress can be flipped in Summer & again in Winter. You could then do the rotating of the mattress in Spring & Fall. Single sided mattresses should also be rotated-although you do not flip, obviously. Again, you can choose time of year and schedule all flips and rotations on a calendar.

You should also rotate your box spring once a year.

Always use a bed frame with a rigid center support that supports the head, foot, sides and center of the mattress and box spring. If using bed slats with a mattress and box spring, use at least three rigid, no-slag slats.

InnStyle can supply your Inn or Bed and Breakfast with mattresses at wholesale pricing.  Contact your InnStyle representative or call Toll Free: 1-800-877-INNS (4667) to receive Personal Service at Wholesale Pricing.

Taking Proper Care Of Your Linen Investment Is Serious Business

Now more than ever, it is imperative for the Innkeeper to conserve, and preserve, the vital resources essential to their business. Linens are one such resource. Innkeepers invest significantly into the purchase and care of linens, and it is in their best interest to do so properly, thus extending a quality lifespan and ultimately saving money on replacements.Fine Linens for Innkeepers - InnStyle Tips for Proper Care

The following are six tips for the proper care of your linen investment:

  1. Washing – Pre-wash your linens before first use. Separate your linens from other items in the wash, especially those containing polyester, which tends to create pilling, and items with heavy zippers, which can damage the fabric. Separate light and dark colors. Avoid overloading the washing machine, which can cause fibers to break down from excessive abrasion and agitation. You can wash most linens in warm water on a gentle cycle with a cold-water rinse, but be sure to check the care label.
  2. Detergent – Use a mild detergent without added bleach, whiteners, or fabric softeners. Do not pour detergent directly on textiles; rather, add it to the water as the wash tub fills or dilute detergent with water, then add linens. Unless linens are very soiled, you only need to use half the recommended amount of detergent.
  3. Bleaching – Chlorine bleach will weaken fibers and cause the fabric to yellow. If white fabrics need bleaching, use only an oxygen-based bleach.
  4. Drying – While line drying outdoors is gentle, safe, and imbues linens with the fresh scent of the outdoors and natural bleaching of the sun, it is not always practical. You can machine dry most linens on low heat, but be sure to check the care label. Shake out damp linens before placing in the dryer. Never use a high heat setting, which will weaken the fibers, damage the fabric, increase shrinkage, and shorten the life of your linens. Remove items from dryer promptly, while still damp, to minimize wrinkles. Smooth and fold, or press with an iron, if desired.
  5. Ironing – Check to make sure your steam iron is clean – mineral deposits could cause brown spotting. Iron linens while still damp. To restore the lustrous face of sateen fabrics, iron on the reverse side. For embroidered linens, iron them on the reverse side atop a towel to preserve the three-dimensional effect of the embroidery. Use a press cloth to protect delicate lace and cutwork.
  6. Shrinkage – All natural fibers will shrink to some extent, but in most instances we purchase products that are generously overcut to allow for shrinkage. Check the product that you purchase (for size – width & length). Do not wash or, especially, dry linens on a hot setting, which is most likely to damage the fabric and intensify shrinkage. Always follow instructions on care label.

5 Uses For Area Rugs For Innkeepers

Whether long and narrow, short and wide or one that covers the entire floor surface, area rugs do so much more than simply cover the floor. InnStyle, the “one stop shop” for innkeepers, carries a huge selection of area rugs of all shapes, styles and purposes. Any innkeeper is sure to find the area rug that perfectly suits their needs, such as:

Area Run Innstyle

  1. Change the entire appearance of a room: Standard rectangular rugs provide both utility and elegance while circular and octagonal rugs add a unique look. Quickly and economically change the “theme” of your space just by adding or replacing the area rug.
  2. Add warmth and safety to a bathroom: Replace the floor towel outside the shower or tub with a small absorbent rug that has a “sticky” bottom for safety. Use an area rug as a rug runner in front of the bathroom vanity for warmth and elegance. Place an area rug at an angle in the center of the bathroom to make it an interesting focal point.
  3. Have your foyer make a statement: The right area rug placed in the foyer can speak volumes about what your guests can expect and really make guests entering your home feel welcome. Change the rug seasonally to keep repeat guests guessing, “What’s different?”
  4. Spice up a dining room: Place the area rug in such a way that it adds flair and provides separation if blending the kitchen and dining room decor. In larger dining areas or in eating areas separate from the kitchen, use area rugs to add elegance or a dramatic flair.
  5. Make your guest rooms memorable: Area rugs are excellent style upgrades and are affordable options for floors that need updating when there’s no budget for a flooring makeover. Add style to an otherwise bland room, or modify the decor of a room designed toward an “aging” trend.

Waffle Weave Blankets, Towels and Robes Feel As Yummy As They Sound

Waffle weave fabric is a woven fabric with a recessed square pattern resembling the look of the popular breakfast treat or honey bee comb. During the weaving process, the ridges outlining the squares or diamonds are raised on all sides by floating both the warp and the weft, and gradually decreasing the floats moving from the ridges toward the centers.  The result is a versatile fabric, ranging in gauge from fine to coarse, that is very absorbent. Waffle Weave Robe InnStyle

The adaptable nature of waffle weave fabric makes it a popular choice for many bath and kitchen accessories, including:

  1. Bath Towels: The waffle weave fabric is highly absorbent. It also allows air to flow through it so that it dries quickly, thus making it a perfect choice for towels. Waffle fabrics are made in a range of weights. Coarse or large gauge waffle weave material makes particularly luxurious, plush towels.
  2. Washcloths: The waffle weave design is engineered in such a way as to absorb soapy water and hold it inside of the specialty woven pockets.
  3. Dishcloths: The tiny squares are designed to remove large amounts of water away from the surface and reduce streaking.
  4. Bathrobes: The weave that makes fast-drying dishcloths and dishtowels also works well for a lightweight summer bathrobe. Medium gauge waffle weave has thermal properties and provides warmth that is a perfect choice for cozy cool weather robes.
  5. Blankets: Waffle weave has thermal properties that provide warmth and insulation by trapping body heat and forming a warm layer next to the skin, thereby increasing heat retention. In addition, waffle weave fabric is highly absorbent and available in a variety of weights. These features make this fabric perfect for blankets.

InnStyle carries a wide selection of towels, blankets and robes in comfortable, cozy and absorbent waffle weave. Browse the website and take a taste of your favorite waffle today.

Four Fancy Ways To Fold A Napkin

InnStyle is a wholesale fine linens supplier for bed, bath and dining for the innkeeping industry. We are a family business that began by providing hotel fine linens to local bed and breakfasts, country inns and restaurants in our community. We expanded nationally and provide a full product line to fulfill the needs of our customers who prefer “one stop shopping”.

As we approach the holiday season, many of our loyal customers are interested in tips for Table Linens for Innkeepers at Wholesale Pricingsetting a warm, inviting holiday table. From simple to elegant, InnStyle carries the table linens needed to set “just the right” table. But, how to set this table has always been up to our customers!! InnStyle would like to offer our assistance in this area as well.

Here are four techniques for folding an elegant napkin:

  1. Envelope fold: Place square napkin on table like diamond, with one point facing you. Fold in half upward, point to point, to make triangle. Fold left and right corners of triangle inward so points meet at midpoint of base. Fold outer portions inward again in similar manner, with folds meeting at centre.
Fold bottom section of napkin up so you have rectangular bottom and triangle “flap” above it.
Fold “flap” down over rectangle to resemble sealed envelope.
  2. Fleur-de-Lis fold: Begin with your square napkin unfolded (press it for a really polished look). Fold the bottom corner up to meet the top corner to form a triangle, then bring the two side corners up to the top corner so that you have a square again. Bring the bottom corner up part way so that there is an inch or so of space between it and the top corner. Fold the bottom corner down so there is a little triangular tab hanging down. Finally, tuck the side flaps towards the back. And pull the “rabbit ears” at the top down and to the side – and there you have your fleur de lis!
  3. Silver Buffet fold: This creates a nice pocket to put the silverware in. Start with your square napkin unfolded. Fold in half from the bottom two corners up to the top two corners to form a rectangle (hot dog style!). Fold in half again to form a square (hamburger style!) and rotate it so that the open corners are pointing up. Roll the top two corners down to the halfway point, then just tuck the two side corners behind the whole thing, and you have your silver buffet pouch. Slide a set of silverware in, and place it on top of the plate, next to it, or in true buffet fashion, in the center of the table.
  4. Pyramid fold: Place square napkin on table like diamond, with one point facing you. Fold in half upward, point to point, to make triangle.
Fold left corner up to meet top corner.
Turn napkin over. Fold diagonally in half by bringing bottom point up to meet top. You now have a triangle.
Lift up base of triangle toward you while bringing outer points closer together underneath.

InnStyle stocks napkins in many styles, fabrics, sizes and colors. You will be pleased with our selection, prices and customer service. Call us Toll Free: 1-800-877-INNS (4667).

Decorate Your Holiday Table Festively with Natural Elements

In our previous blog we considered how table runners are a fast, easy, inexpensive way to beautify a table. In keeping with this theme, let’s now concentrate how we can inexpensively dress-up these table runners for the holidays, simply using nature as our muse.

Wholesale Table Linens from LenoxMany of the following eco-friendly suggestions can be found at the grocery store, in your backyard, or possibly already laying around the house just waiting to be repurposed:

  1. Embellish cloth napkins by tying springs of herbs, such as rosemary and thyme with beautiful strips of cloth or ribbon.
  2. Employ a pomegranate as a place card – Use silver, gold or black permanent marker to write the guests name on the deep rich red skin of the fruit before dinner, and enjoy the delicious fleshy seeds for dessert afterwards!
  3. Dress-up a craft store cornucopia with pickling stain on the outside with burlap lining on the inside. Copiously fill with a variety of squash, apples, pears, mini pumpkins, and pomegranates. Place the cornucopia on a platter so you can move it easily without upsetting the work of art.
  4. Place a small glass hurricane inside a larger one with about a 1/4-1/2 inch space between. Slip wheat, cranberries, acorns, leaves or another seasonal detail between the candleholders. Place a candle in the center (make sure the candle is shorter than the height of the inner glass).

These decorations inspired by nature look particularly stunning juxtaposed on href=”https://www.innstyle.com/catalog/Opal_Innocence_Tablecloth-880.html” target=”_blank”>Opal Innocence by Lenox, an elegant scroll damask.

Table Runners to Enhance Decor

Using Table Runners is a Fast, Easy, and Inexpensive Way to Enhance Décor

As the days grow shorter, and colder weather drives people indoors, autumn is traditionally the time that thoughts turn to creating a warm, nurturing indoor environment. Our next few blog entries will focus on small ways to enhance your living space that make a big difference in your interior refuge from the harsh winter elements.

Table runners are one such way to not only compliment a table setting for mealtime, but to create an elegant “tablescape” that inexpensively transforms a room’s décor.

First, let’s define what a table runner is: a table runner is a strip of decorative cloth that Wholesale Hospitality Supplies: Table Runners from InnStylevaries in width, length and adornments, which “runs” the span of a table. Ways to use a table runner in a decorating scheme is limited only by one’s imagination. When used over a beautiful wood table, one may want to use a runner alone so as to enhance the natural elegance of the table. Additional drama can be introduced into a tablescape when a runner is used over a tablecloth, especially when fabrics of differing colors and textures are used.

Table runners are not limited to use on a traditional dining room table only. Runners can enhance the look and feel of end tables, side tables, buffets, teacarts, coffee tables, or almost any piece of furniture with a flat surface.

There is no hard and fast rule regarding the size of the table runner. It can have a drop and hang over the sides of the table or it can be shorter than the table and sit in the middle. But the runner should not hang down past the drop of the tablecloth.

Establishing a mood by the imaginative use of a table runner can result in a particularly dramatic decorative effect. Colors, textures and centerpieces can be mixed and matched in order to celebrate special occasions, observe a holiday, or simply change the “feel” of a room.

Quick tips for enhancing drama by simply using table runners:

  1. Lay two table runners across a round table, creating four “sections”. If four people are dining, each diner can be centered on the length of a runner. Eight diners can be seated with two diners per “section”, thus creating an intimate effect.
  2. For a less formal effect, use a shorter runner (one that is one-third the length of the table) and place a visually interesting, textural centerpiece on the runner.
  3. For longer tables, place multiple shorter table runners across the width of the table, preferably with no more than a six-inch drop. Be careful not to place the runners closer than two feet apart, otherwise the table will appear too cluttered.

InnStyle stocks table runners at wholesale pricing in many styles, fabrics, sizes and colors. You will be pleased with our selection, prices and customer service.  Call us Toll Free: 1-800-877-INNS (4667) or 1-800-877-4667.

Why should I use a mattress pad?

A mattress pad is designed to lie on top of a mattress. It can have an elasticized skirt that is placed over and around a mattress, similar to a bottom fitted sheet. Or it can have anchor bands at the corners that keep it in place.

A mattress pad serves several purposes:Mattress Pads for Inns - B N B

  • It offers extra cushioning, enhancing the overall comfort of the mattress. You experience the added softness of a mattress pad, while not taking away from the support of the mattress.
  • It provides an added layer of warmth between the mattress and your body. In colder weather, or in well-air conditioned rooms, a mattress pad acts as insulation and helps keep you warm.
  • It acts as a buffer between the sheets and the mattress, helping protect against stains. An unprotected mattress can become stained very easily, even from natural perspiration.
  • It protects the integrity of the mattress, especially the stitching along the seams. A protected mattress will have a much longer useful life.

InnStyle carries a complete line of Mattress Pads at wholesale prices.  Call us Toll Free at 1-800-877-INNS (4667). We offer Personal Service at Wholesale Prices.
