Steps to Triple Sheeting

Step 1:  Build your bottom layer by using a fitted sheet or flat sheet folded around the mattress.

Step 2:  Lay the middle flat sheet on top of the bottom sheet matching the top of the mattress with the top of the flat sheet making sure it hangs evenly on each side of the bed.

Step 3:  Add the warmth layer, which is the blanket, leaving the top edge of the blanket about 6 inches from the top of the bed.

Step 4:  Add the top layer using a top cover or flat sheet, matching up the top of the cover with the top of the bed, even with the middle layer flat sheet.

Step 5:  Fold the top sheet and the middle sheet together back even with, but not including the warmth layer.

Step 6:  Fold all three layers together another 6 inches so that all three layers are folded together.

Step 7:  Tuck the bottom overhang into the mattress first, square up the bottom corners and fold everything in on all sides for a nice neat finished look.

Step 8:  Bed scarves can be added for color, texture and protect from suitcase marks.

Triple sheeting is popular because it is an easy system for housekeeping staff to work with.  These sheets and a blanket are very easy to launder and put back on the bed in a quick period of time.  Decorative top covers are also designed with modern looks so they will fit in well in any contemporary room.

Duvet Covers

The duvet cover is also a popular hospitality bedding linen used on the top of the bed.  Its primary purpose is to protect a heavier item like a comforter.  It is easier on washing because you only have to wash the duvet cover which is much lighter than comforters.  The main trick will be teaching your housekeeping staff the proper ways to put the duvet cover back on the comforter.  However, duvet covers are comfortable, come in many styles, patterns, and colors, and are much easier to wash than linens like bedspreads or comforters.  They look great on a bed.  Duvet covers can come as 100% cotton, a cotton polyester blend, microfiber, and organic.

Mattress Protectors

With all the awareness given to health and cleanliness this year, mattress protectors have never been a more important feature for hospitality bedding.  A mattress protector acts as an additional barrier around the mattress to protect it from harm.  It helps block out allergens and other irritants like bed bugs, mold, and germs.  Many mattress protectors are also waterproof so this can help prevent spills or other body fluids like sweat from entering the mattress.  Mattresses are supposed to last for years so it is important to help keep them in good condition for as long as possible.  Most manufacturers have a warranty on their mattresses, however, stains will nullify that warranty.  Mattress protectors protect this warranty and can help increase the life expectancy of your mattress and help keep your guests healthy and satisfied.
