Which Offers More Comfort: A Hotel, B&B or a Vacation Rental?

What’s the Difference Between a Bath Towel and a Bath Sheet?

Are bath towels and bath sheets interchangeable?

While they have the same function, they’re not the same thing. So what’s the difference between a bath towel and a bath sheet?

The simple answer is that a bath sheet is larger than a bath towel. Most bath towels measure a minimum of 27 inches by 54 inches, although some better towels can measure 30 inches by 60 inches.

In comparison, a bath sheet can measure anywhere from 30 inches by 64 inches to 40 inches by 70 inches, depending on the manufacturer. A bath sheet provides more than twice the surface area of a bath towel.

The size difference makes bath towels less expensive than bath sheets, but each item has its own purpose and advantages.

Stain Removal Hints

Check all linens for stains and pre-treat them before laundering
Patience and time are required when working on stains. There is NO immediate solution
Test all bleaches in an inconspicuous area to avoid damaging colored items
Do not use chlorine bleach on wool or silk – it will dissolve both fabrics
Do not use vinegar on acetate material – it will soften and dissolve acetate
Oily based stains like salad dressing, sauces, etc. should be treated with a solvent prior to laundering. Laundering even without drying may set these types of stains
Use solvents such as Carbona, mineral spirits or other dry cleaning fluids in a well ventilated area. Try to avoid excessive inhalation of the fumes from the solvents
Avoid drying items in the dryer with heat unless stains have been removed
