Which Type of Bed Sheet Should I Use?

How high in importance would you rank the type of sheet you use in making your bed the best it can possibly be?

When was the last time you thought about the quality and types of sheets you use for your guests?

Bed sheets are your biggest decision in making a bed, and there are a lot of factors in deciding which sheets would suit you best.  Characteristics that could affect the sheet you may want to purchase include the material, the cost, and the length of time you hope the sheets will last.

There are four main styles of sheets:

          *100% cotton

          *Cotton polyester blend

          *Microfiber

          *Organic

100% Cotton Sheets

100% cotton bed sheets are known for being very breathable and comfortable.  They are usually woven or knit with the weaving options primarily being a sateen and percale.  100% cotton sheets are easily maintained and get softer after each wash cycle.  Also, cotton naturally wicks away moisture which makes the sheets feel cooler.  However, cotton sheets are prone to wrinkle which will require ironing.  Our most popular 100% cotton sheet and most popular selling sheet is the InnStyle 600 Wrinkle Free Sheet.  It is unique because it has the qualities of a 100% cotton bed sheet, but it does not require ironing since it is wrinkle free.

Cotton Polyester Sheets

A cotton polyester bed sheet is a combination of both cotton and polyester material.  Many of these sheets are constructed in a blend that is around 60% cotton and 40% polyester.  These sheets are more economical than 100% cotton sheets because of the material they are made out of, but they still provide good quality.  The best part about these bed sheets is that they will not require ironing because the added polyester makes them wrinkle resistant.  Our 600 Luxury Cotton Rich Sheet Set is a popular example.

Microfiber Sheets

Microfiber bed sheets are made of very thin fibers which make a lightweight sheet.  They are woven in a condensed thread pattern which results in the sheet being more durable and strong.  Microfiber sheets are made from 100% polyester.  They are known for having a very smooth, silky feel and are the most economical sheet.  The polyester will not cause the bed sheets to shrink as it is washed.  These sheets are very durable and wrinkle resistant.  The M-Microfiber Sheet Set is a nice option that we offer.

Organic Sheets

Finally, organic bed sheets are the healthiest option. They are a better option for the environment and planet.  There is not as much water needed to create sheets from organic cotton compared to regular cotton.  Chemical dye can diminish the strength of the fibers in the traditional bed sheets which affects its durability.  The 250 Bamboo Solid Color Sheets are a product we would recommend.
